FIFO Planner is a roster planning tool designed specifically for Australian fly-in fly-out workers. It helps you track swings, plan R&R, overlay public holidays, and share your roster with family — without handing your personal data to a generic calendar app that was never built with FIFO life in mind.

Why we built it

Managing a FIFO roster isn't complicated in concept — but the tools available to do it are either too generic (Google Calendar, spreadsheets) or too heavy (enterprise workforce software that costs thousands of dollars and was built for operations teams, not individual workers).

We wanted a planner that understood swing terminology from the start — that knew what a 2/1 meant, what R&R days look like, and how WA's public holidays are different to Queensland's. Something that worked at camp with no internet. Something you could share with your partner so they could plan around your roster without you sending screenshots of a spreadsheet every fortnight.

FIFO Planner is that tool.

What FIFO Planner does

  • Roster planning — Set up any common FIFO pattern (2/1, 4/2, 8/6, 7/7, 3/1, and more) or define your own. The planner calculates your exact swing and R&R days from a start date, for as far into the future as you need.
  • Australian public holidays — Overlay state-specific public holidays directly on your roster calendar. Know which public holidays fall on your swing versus R&R so you can plan accordingly — whether that's a penalty rate on site or a long weekend at home.
  • Calendar export — Export your roster as an ICS file and import it into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook. Your swing and R&R blocks appear as calendar events, visible alongside your partner's schedule.
  • Partner sharing — Share a private link to your roster so your family can see your upcoming swings without needing an account.
  • Offline access — Works without internet at camp. Your roster is stored locally so you can check it in the wet mess or the donga with no signal.

Privacy first. Your roster data stays on your device. We don't sell data, run ads, or share your information with third parties. If you choose to share your roster with a partner, that's your decision — the link is private and revocable.
