FIFO Planner is a web application for fly-in fly-out workers to plan and visualise work and rest rotation schedules. It supports the common FIFO rotation patterns, Australian public holiday overlays, ICS calendar export, and optional partner sharing. It is free to start and never uses your location.

How a roster comes together
Pick a pattern
Choose a one-click template (2/1, 3/1, 4/2, 8/6, 6/3/6/3 or 4/1/4/2), set your own weeks or days on and off, or build your own multi-cycle pattern.
Set your start date
The start date is day one of your first swing. FIFO Planner calculates every later swing and R&R period from it.
Add the details that matter to you
Name the roster, choose your home state for public holidays, pick a shift pattern (day, night, day to night or night to day), and optionally add your fly-in and fly-out flights.
Create the roster
It appears on your calendar straight away. You can edit the pattern later, and the app shows what the change affects before you save it.

Six patterns are one click away, and the multi-cycle builder covers the rest. Custom and multi-cycle patterns are free, not a Pro feature.
One-click templates
- 2/1 Standard — 2 weeks on, 1 week off
- 3/1 Extended — 3 weeks on, 1 week off
- 4/2 Mining — 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off
- 8/6 Day Pattern — 8 days on, 6 days off (14-day cycle)
- 6/3/6/3 — 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off, repeating (opens the multi-cycle builder)
- 4/1/4/2 — 4 weeks on, 1 off, 4 on, 2 off (opens the multi-cycle builder)
The multi-cycle builder
The builder works in days, with a repeat count for each cycle, and has quick-add buttons for 8/6, 7/7, 4/2 and 2/1. The 6/3/6/3 and 4/1/4/2 templates fill it for you, and any other combination your site uses can be built the same way.
Your roster on the calendar
The calendar has a month grid and a week strip, and you can choose whether the week starts on Monday or Sunday. Swing and R&R days have their own colours, which you can change per roster. Public holidays, your own events and the swing changeover markers can each be switched on or off from the calendar settings.
Tap or click any date to add an event: overtime, sick leave, annual leave, personal leave, training, a meeting, a custom entry, or a flight to site or home. Leave can cover a range of days in one go, up to 90 days at a time.
Flights and checklists
Add the details of your fly-in and fly-out flights: flight number, airline, airports, departure and arrival times, and optionally your booking reference, seat, terminal and gate. They show up in a boarding-pass style view on the calendar. FIFO Planner stores what you type, so it does not look up flights or show live flight status.
Each trip also has a checklist for flying out and another for flying home. Edit the lists to suit you (up to 50 items each); the lists apply across all your rosters, while ticks start fresh for each trip, and both sync across your devices.

Privacy
FIFO Planner does not use your location. It keeps the details of your account (email, name and home state) plus your rosters, events and checklists, and measures page views with Vercel Analytics. Sharing is always opt-in, and shared links can be revoked.
